Do Some Journal Poetry!
June 24 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Poetry is an art form in its own right, but let’s have fun with presentation! In this class, we’ll throw our creativity onto the page, experimenting with collage poetry, blackout poetry, and paint chip poetry. We’ll create multimedia designs around the poems—sometimes inspired by the poem itself or sometimes based on colors, textures, shapes, and images that interest us in that moment.
Let your mind wander in this no-pressure workshop, allowing yourself to make (happy little) accidents. We’ll review plenty of examples along the way to show you what can be done with junk journal poetry when you give yourself permission to play. You’ll come away with three designed poems (or beginnings of poems) and a journal you can continue to build upon until it’s all filled up.
No prior experience with junk journaling is required. And poets of all skill levels are welcome!
